But I’m Doing Everything Right: The Secret You’ve Been Missing

But I’m Doing Everything Right: The Secret You’ve Been Missing

Have you ever felt like you’re doing everything right, yet your body just doesn’t seem to respond? Maybe you’re eating healthy, exercising regularly, and trying every fitness trend out there, but despite your efforts, your energy continues to dip, your strength wanes, and your clothes feel a little tighter. It’s frustrating, and if you’re like most people, you’re probably wondering, “What am I doing wrong?”

Here’s the thing: You’re not necessarily doing anything wrong, but you might be overlooking one crucial factor. And it’s not your fault.

Social media is flooded with influencers and "experts" promoting the latest fitness secrets, promising quick fixes and immediate results. The reality, though, is that the answers to sustainable health and fitness are often buried under layers of misinformation. This leaves many feeling lost, confused, and unsure where to turn next.

As a health professional, I speak with individuals every day who are frustrated after trying everything—cutting calories, endless cardio, restrictive meal plans—only to see minimal progress. They wake up feeling exhausted, their strength slowly declines year after year, and despite their best efforts, their bodies seem to resist every attempt at change.

This constant onslaught of conflicting advice only adds to the confusion, and before long, it’s easy to start blaming yourself. Maybe you think, “This is just what happens as I age.” But here’s the truth: It doesn’t have to be this way.

After over three decades in nutrition and fitness, I’ve learned one very important lesson: The problem isn’t that we’re “overfat”—it’s that we’re undermuscled.

Skeletal muscle is your body’s largest organ system, and it plays a much larger role in your health than most people realise. When your muscle mass declines, so does your metabolism, your energy, and your strength. But the good news is that building and maintaining muscle can flip that script.

Once you start focusing on building muscle, your body responds differently to food, you regain your energy, your strength improves, and your overall health takes a massive turn for the better. This isn’t some overnight miracle—it’s a sustainable change that pays off over time.

Those I work with through the AstonRX program experience this transformation firsthand. Within weeks, they notice their strength and confidence returning, and they start to feel a renewed sense of control over their lives.

This isn’t about quick fixes or complicated routines. It’s about understanding how to nourish and maintain your skeletal muscle—something that will serve you well for years to come.
