There’s a type of person who finds a problem for every solution.
I’ve known many. Even staring at the face of success, they’ll search for a reason why it won’t last or, better yet, question if they were even successful in the first place and can ever be successful again.
This way of life is about focusing on the reasons why not rather than 'Hell, yes, let’s do this.'
Once you click into the latter, more positive, frame of mind, everything starts to flow. Those reasons of why to not tweak, or even overhaul, your lifestyle becomes literally a walk in the park.
We found a lot of people were successful at the height of the pandemic because most of the usual obstacles to a lifestyle change had been forcibly removed. There wasn’t any socialising, travelling, commuting to work, and eating in the office. It was an artificial environment but one where people achieved great results on AstonRX.
When everything opened up, they had no idea of how to manage obstacles, so the weight returned and their health suffered.
In normal life as we know it, there are always obstacles if you choose to see them that way or just events for you to still enjoy but in a different way. There are the cocktails to share with friends, the cupcake parties, the mates’ pizza and beer nights. What would watching the footy or tennis be like without a meat pie, chips, beers, wine? Could it still be a great chance to watch a game with your friends?
Obstacles are not excuses. It’s just part of life to navigate around them and choose the best way forward for yourself which I hope would be your own physical and mental health.
There’s no such thing as finding the 'perfect' 28 days to do this program because there’s no such thing as perfection unless you don’t have anyone else in your life, have nothing to do and nowhere to go. Even then, the person who finds a problem for every solution will find an obstacle.
Take inspiration from my client who says 'I still eat everything I like. I’ve just changed what I like.'
It’s not about blaming circumstances or people in your life. You can make your own decisions, whether good or bad, and be the leader of yourself. Who knows? You may just inspire a bunch of other positive, self-motivated people in your world to do the same.
